That's the question I ask myself often, even when I am practicing my yoga routine! I like to eat out and enjoy a new atmosphere, it is so important to me that I pick the right place to spend time with my favorite people!
This week, I took my mom on a weekend trip to Tarrytown House Estate and got introduced to this amazing restaurant @goosefeatherny by Chef Dale Talde. Since this is pretty much the only restaurant in the walkable area, I had multiple meals here in the past few days, and I gotta say that it's not disappointed at all.
This summer, in front of the King Mansion, there is living-room liked setting for customers on the front lawn, with friendly servers and drinks (most of the waiters/waitresses remember me and I really would like to compliment everyone here, they show really good teamwork and I don't see that often in a big and busy restaurant!). I am impressed by this restaurant location, summer energized vibrant waiters/waitresses' color shirts, a Chinese-inspired color theme, an interior design of the whole dining room area & restaurant bar, and outdoor decorations. Each dish on the menu was delicious and had a special kick on each bite - and I'm not kidding, it feels like I am here for such a unique experience.
First I ordered takeout on our first night because the restaurant was packed (recommend making a reservation a few weeks ahead for the peak dinner hours), I sat outside to enjoy this yummy Crispy Shrimp Bao -perfect cooked bao with well-made General Tso's sauce, Pickled Daikon, and cabbage. We wanted something light to enjoy mother-daughter conversation so I ordered Kung Pao Chicken Wings, hit me perfectly - the shaved celery makes the flavor pop like nowhere else, and the light buttermilk dill ranch was also a cherry on top to this dish. We had an amazing time under the outdoor string lights and a couple of glasses of sparkling wine.
The night after, I got to sit down in a dining room and tasted the mouth-watering Roast Crown of Duck, Char Siu Berkshire Pork Belly, Crab Rice, and Summer Sweet Corn. The highlight of the night (besides the Hong Kong Style Tiramisu with chewy boba)? I ran into Chef Dale on the front lawn! I did not know who he was until a few hours later when he walked around and gave warmed welcome greetings to all the guests! It's so fun to be here!!
